The case
Hussain is a trained stage actor whose screen work is almost entirely about withholding. In Mukti Bhawan he plays a son who resents the duty he is performing and performs it anyway — the resentment never once becomes a speech. Norwegian, French and Hollywood casting directors found him before Hindi cinema did.
