The case

Sikri was an NSD-trained stage actor who won National Awards across four decades — Tamas, Mammo, and finally Badhaai Ho at 73, where she does the film's hardest job: making the grandmother's cruelty and her loyalty the same trait. She was a great actor who happened to also be famous for a soap.

Where to start

Begin with Badhaai Ho (2018). It's in this canon — read our entry on it. Then work through Tamas, Mammo, Sardari Begum.
