The case
Singh spent years in bit parts, co-wrote Mukkabaaz himself, then physically became a competitive boxer to play the lead. The result is one of the most credible sports performances in Indian cinema. He went straight back to supporting roles. That gap between what he can do and what he is offered is the whole point of this list.
Where to start
Begin with Mukkabaaz (2017). It's in this canon — read our entry on it. Then work through Gangs of Wasseypur, Ugly, Rangbaaz.
